I agree. I could have had 1,000 platinum several times over, but what is the point in having money unless you spend it?

Learned my lesson a long time ago...I gave everything that was of no use to me away. I also gave large amounts of gold away to Guildies. Huge mistake. I contantly got requests for items and/or gold. The worst was an honest request for 90k so a Guildie could buy 15k armor for her Ranger. 90k, WTF?
But back to topic, yes, the more I have, the less I spend/give away. When I had 30k, giving 5k away was nothing, now, at 700k, 2k for a salvage kit kills me.

I always buy ectos or perfect rare items, its up to you what you want to collect. Seeing stacks of ecto used to do it for me, but not anymore. Now I just buy perfect items, for my collection. You can always buy in FOW armor, but I think it would be worth your while if you waited for chapter 2.

Just curious, how many hours do you guys have on your account?
I have 300+ hours, and only 30k. I just wanted to see how I was doing...

I am sitting just under 100K right now, but usually try to maintain around 100-125K. Everything else I give away to those who need, not those who beg.
Oh, and about 750+ hours.

I am finding now that gold starts to have little meaning and I no longer require it for anything so may aswell buy another set of fow armor or get some nice casting weapons to finish my collection. Screw chapter 2 as none of the armors look remotely appealing for me.
PVP is also looking scaringly attractive

1,000,000 gold? Good job. gold isn't hard to earn but it is tedious. Anet has made it substancially harder to earn gold in the past 8 months. So Job Well done. once ya learn how to make cash its easy to make 100-150k a day though with a i-monk. However dont make the entire game of it. i like you give out tons of hand outs. I basically funded a guild of 20 with 1-2 lvl 20's decked out.
Dont think of giving gold as a gift. Think of it as an investment in your gaming future.

I usually have about 100K. The dye trader has my other 900K.
~Edit - Forgot to answer the original question.
I am a tightwad until I surpass 100K. I don't think I will ever hit 1 million. When I see 150K in storage, I proceed to blow 75K-100K wasting dyes, only to revert everything back to the last color I had anyway. Then I am tighter than your "duck's proverbial" until I pass 100K again.

I have about 600-700 hours, and if I never went on a skillbuying binge, I might have enough for 15k armor. Right now I'm at 12-16k (might buy a new longbow). My wealth is in my faction which right now is about 220k. I don't burn money on anything stupid like req 7 chaos axes but skill trainers are my weakspot, as shown by my thread in Q&A
